Happily singing on the resort grounds, I chased this one around till it came and perched on this nice thick dry bamboo clothesline. Interestingly, I have not seen this yellowish golden colour on it before.

Indian Pond Heron

What I thought was a Cattle Egret, actually turned out to be a Indian Pond Heron. The pond Heron, is normally found near ponds, needs a water body for sure. Wondering what it was doing here. For a moment, I also thought the blue on the beak was copper sulphate, but in breeding plumage seems quite common.

White-throated Kingfisher

This variety of Kingfisher is very commonly seen all over India. Its always fun to see and always fun to photograph. Near the exit of the Sultanpur trail in the shade on a hot morning.

Alexandrine Parakeet

Just at the entrance of Sultanpur there were quite a few of these Alexandrine Parakeets. Only issue is they were high up on this dry tree.

River Lapwing

Near the Kosi river on the way out saw this wonderful River Lapwing dancing and prancing about. It actually came onto the road and was staring at traffic for a while, bold and brave!

Not much by way of composition, however the reason I like it, was shot from a jeep using a cushion as a bean-bag for support and on a very cold morning!

Common Sandpiper

There was a time when the only Sandpiper I knew came out of a bottle brewed at Inertia Industries, Gurgaon. But this cute little fellow is the Common Sandpiper.

White-browed Wagtail

Perched on a mossy little rock in the Kosi river, this wagtail kept me entertained for quite a while, I kept chasing it to get a shot. Managed a few, and liked this one the most. Frame could have been a bit better, but my excuse it was freezing and my mind and fingers both were not working!
